To Help Or Overthrow; God Has The Power

But a man of God came to him and said, "O king, these troops from Israel must not march with you, for the LORD is not with Israel—not with any of the people of Ephraim. Even if you go and fight courageously in battle, God will overthrow you before the enemy, for God has the power to help or to overthrow."

Amaziah asked the man of God, "But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite troops?"
The man of God replied, "The LORD can give you much more than that."

2 Chronicles 25:7-9

Even as the people of God, God will overthrow you if you are not following His direction. Amaziah was one of those kings of Judah who did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, although half-heartedly (vs. 2). He was going off to war, as kings did in those days, and he was exerting his kingdom! He recruited 100,000 Israelite soldiers giving them 100 talents of silver each! The prophet told him, however, that God would not honor that. God was with Judah, not Israel. God has the power to help or overthrow. “What about all that money?” God can provide more than that.

God has all the power. If I am listening to Him and obedient, His power is available to help. If I assume the throne… If I begin to live and lead NOT as God would have me, He has the power to overthrow! And for all that He leads me to do, He has the resources to fund it. God has no cash-flow problem. There is no end to His provision… and His provision is directed toward His purposes. To experience an abundant life will mean living as He directs and trusting Him to provide.

Father, be the Conquering King in my life. Take any hill You desire through me. I am Your servant, yielded to Your plan and purpose for my life – and for the glory of Your Name and Your Kingdom. In Christ I pray!
