Agreeing With God

But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 1:7

God is light – in Him there is no darkness. If we walk in the light and not in the darkness… if we are honest about who we are; our need for a Savior; if we are truthful and transparent; if we agree with God about the most important of things – what’s the result?

We have fellowship with one another
The blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin

The way to be free from the ugliness and weight of sin is not to pretend that you are not plagued with it. This is lying… this is walking in the darkness. The way to be released and set free from the devastation of sin is to own up to it. When we are honest about our sin, this is walking in the light. This level of authenticity creates “koinonia” – biblical fellowship! And the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Amazing! We are free.
