Jealous For Worship

He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.

17 He said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger?

Ezekiel 8:16-17

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." 9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
11"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."
Revelation 4:8-11

God is jealous for the worship He deserves. The men in Ezekiel 8 had their backs to God and worshipped the sun He created. The 24 Elders in Revelation 4 fell face down before God Almighty, casting their crowns before Him, declaring His worth.

I will worship no other. As I see the beauty of creation, it will cause me to worship the Creator.

You are worthy, Father, to receive worship from Your creation, of which I am a part. I give You this day the honor and glory that is naturally Yours. You are awesome and worthy of praise.
