Hope!
…we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf.
The Hebrew writer continues to refer back to the Temple. ‘Behind the curtain’ in the Temple was the holy of holies, the place where God dwelled – His very Presence.Hope has been offered to us. Not everyone receives it, but for those of us who take hold of this hope, we are greatly encouraged! Our hope enters into the very Presence of God in the Person of Jesus Christ. He went into the holy of holies on my behalf. This is my hope! When I follow Him into God’s Presence, the Father knows me as one of the Redeemed! No introductions are necessary! No provision for my sin is required for me to be there because Jesus died once for all time, removing my sin (past, present & future) from me. He is my High Priest, representing me before the Father… He is my Melchizedek. This hope is an anchor to my soul. Life gets cr-azy! Life is hard. Jesus steadies my life – He is my Rock. I know who I am because of Him.Lord Jesus, I am overwhelmed this morning by the strength of your grace. You have gone before me… I am speechless here… thank You.
