Same Mission; Same Spirit
Jesus said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”<o:p></o:p>

Here is one of the great mission verses in the New Testament! Jesus describes the new life and activity of His disciples and the power source from which, or from Whom, they will be able to do His mission. Their new life in Jesus’ Kingdom will be one of giving witness to who Christ is and what He has done. The power to live such a life will come from the Holy Spirit who will fall on them. The Holy Spirit will be their Guide and Comforter and the One who will supply for all their needs. He will give them even the words they need to witness for Jesus and fulfill His mission.
This same Spirit empowers me, and all of God’s church, to be about this same mission. We are witnesses for Jesus. We give testimony about who He is and what He has done! Jesus is the Son of God who has redeemed, by His own blood, all who place their faith in Him. Repentance and the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to all the nations!
Holy Spirit, energize Your church for the mission you’ve called us to. Breathe life and vitality into us that we would proclaim the greatness of Jesus. Enliven our hearts that we might live lives worthy of this Gospel and be a blessing to everyone we meet. We are servants in Your Kingdom, living to bring You glory. Be glorified this day!<o:p></o:p>
