I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:18-21
It is shocking to think that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in me. God’s power is available to everyone who believes. This power was demonstrated in the resurrection and ascension of Jesus to the place of all authority. There is no rival to Christ in the entire universe because of God’s power.
Now then, what do I lack? What am I struggling with? I think I’ll stack that up against God’s power. How does it compare to the Holy Spirit’s resources available in me? Oh.
Jesus said “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat and the clothes that you wear. The pagans (those without the Holy Spirit) run after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them… but seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you as well” (Matthew 6).
Not being concerned about your life could be seen as careless unless you’re living for the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Then right priorities are set and all is well (even when they’re not). Paul wrote that he boasted about his weaknesses because it was through them that the power of Christ was on display (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
Father, thank You for Your powerful Presence in me. Do some crazy-powerful stuff through me today! I live for You.
