I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Ephesians 3:7
God is Almighty. There is real power that comes to us from Him. Paul experienced it and it showed in the commitment of his life to the Gospel.
Paul prayed for the Ephesians to experience this real power from God.
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
This prayer for the power of God to be manifested in their lives needs to be repeated in ours! Living for God and being committed to the Gospel is constantly challenged intros world. I need God’s power.
For us to be the Church and to see inroads made for Christ’s Kingdom in this culture will only happen by the power of God. It must be made real and experienced by us and through us to others.
This work of the Church is why God has placed us here. His love for people explains the Gospel of Jesus. As the Church we are infused by His Presence and powers that people whom God loves will be saved. With the constant opposition, the work of Christ’s Church will not be done without Christ.
The work of Christ in me will not be done without Christ either. I need His Presence and power demonstrated in my life.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
