Jesus thus revealed His glory, and His disciples put their faith in Him.
Jesus’ first miracle displayed His glory in the sight of His disciples. It showed them the power of God that was present in Him. They put their faith in Jesus.
How do I know if I can trust someone? How do I have faith in anyone? It’s different with Jesus, of course, but maybe there is a principle here. I can put my faith in people when I see a demonstration of God’s glory, His miraculous power, in their lives. Then I can entrust myself to them…
And when they blow it (Jesus never did, but the rest of us will…), there is another opportunity to see the glorious power of God in their lives. When I see them receive the grace of God once again, my trust in them is strengthened because they are allowing the God of the universe to engage them and work gloriously in their lives. Now that’s cool.
I need to see the Lord’s glory. My faith is in Him. I also need to allow His glory to be realized in my life. When people see His power at work in my life, I will be someone they can have faith in.
Lord Jesus, be glorified in my life. Increase my faith. Increase my dependence on You today. Make me the man of God you intend for me to become. Make me like Christ and use me to extend Your Kingdom this day.
It is simply amazing that I can know You and observe Your glory! It is awesome to be a demonstration of your grace and glory. It is beautiful to be a member of Your glorious Bride. Make us ready for Your coming. Show us Your power and glory so our faith can be firmly fixed on You.
