”For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!” Romans 5:10
There is salvation found in the life of Jesus Christ.
We rightly understand that it is through the death of Jesus that salvation comes. His shed blood washes away our sins and reconciles us to God. We are no longer separated from our Holy Creator, because of Jesus.
There is salvation available to us who have already been reconciled. The life of Jesus – specifically His resurrection – saves those who have been saved.
This is not a second salvation, I don’t think. It is a continuation of salvation. It is the actual demonstration of God’s power in the lives of those who have been saved.
It was not enough just for God to reconcile sinners through the blood of Christ – He gives power to their lives, saving them from a hapless existence. God receives glory through this transformation.
Imagine being reconciled to God but living a weak, defeated life. Many of us have and do! The Gospel includes the pouring of God’s power onto the saved. This is the same power that God used to resurrect Jesus from the dead.
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:11
Because Jesus lives – and lives forever – we find our future in Him. We see our future in Him! We are blessed by the Presence of God and are saved from hapless, ineffective lives today. All for God’s glory.
Amen, thank You Father. So be it in my life and in the life of my family and church family. I live for you today.
