“So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.”’
Caleb served the Lord wholeheartedly – even going against the popular opinion, he lived and spoke by his convictions. He was not derailed from speaking the truth, even though he was in the minority. And what he said came from a heart of faith in Almighty God. Even though there may have been giants in the land – what are they opposed to God? Whenever God goes with you, you are in the majority! Whenever God goes with you, you cannot be defeated. Caleb lived this out, serving the Lord wholeheartedly. His faith and service were important and God rewarded him with an inheritance. Other people (Moses) observed his life and confirmed God’s blessing in his life.
Living for God and serving Him wholeheartedly brings its own reward. There is joy and peace in my heart through living wholeheartedly for God – even when it is not popular! Knowing Him and doing His will is a blessing. God, as is His nature, gives rewards beyond these blessings. He has promised me an inheritance that will not rust or waste away. It’s an inheritance that I can’t even piddle away!
I want to thank You Lord for the joy of serving You today. Thank You for the meaning that You bring to my life. And thank You for the reward of heaven that you’ve promised me. I believe!
