Setting forth the truth plainly. Now that’s a gift! It’s also important! Even Paul mentioned the possibility of losing heart. It’s out there… a real possibility. By not losing heart… by keeping the faith and moving forward in this ministry – Paul says they renounce secret and shameful ways. He doesn’t distort the Word of God either. A chapter or two ago he mentioned people who do that. At least they preach for their own financial gain.
I want to set forth the Word of God plainly too! What better compliment than the fact that I was clear on a Sunday morning. People need to hear and understand the Word of God! I too want to steer clear of using the Word for any selfish purpose, but rather speak the truth in love. This will include renouncing the secret and shameful things that we get involved with. These must be renounced in my own life first. I can then, like Paul, “commend myself to everyone’s conscious in the sight of God.
Thank you Father for this ministry. Allow me to proclaim Your Word with simplicity and clarity – allowing your truth to take root and your spirit to reign in my life and the lives of those who hear me. Thank you for Your grace that allows this!
