Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked, the way of obedience to the Lord’s commands.
Obedience is a way of life. You can get into a rhythm of living where obedience is what you do. It is also easy enough to get into another rhythm of life that is marked by disobedience. The way of obedience is the narrow road. It takes discipline and intentional living to walk the way of obedience to the Lord’s commands. To walk in disobedience takes no thought – just live naturally and do what your sinful self clamors for and you’ll find yourself disobeying the Lord.
Father, I am listening. Tell me how You want me to live and I will follow You. I will walk in the way of obedience to Your commands. Thank you for giving me the strength and the heart to obey.
