Jesus is the life-giver; life-restorer; life-sustainer; the One with eternal life. His words are life. When the Twelve were asked if they were going to leave just like the crowds, Peter replied (vs. 68-69), “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Where else would I go? Jesus Christ has ruined me. I am incapacitated. I can go nowhere else. I am broken down… and I am restored, rebuilt, redeemed! I am eternal and filled with God’s very Presence. I have His Word in my hands and in my heart – they flow from my mouth and they saturate my brain. Jesus’ words have changed my life. I have life now. I want this ‘infection’ to consume me. I want to grow in the life-giving words of Jesus so others may hear and receive life too!
Father – Thank You for Your Word: You Son, Jesus. Thank You for Your words given to Him that bring me life! I yield to these words and their life-giving power in my life. Overflow my life with these words so that they will spill into the lives of those around me. Thank You for the gift of Your Eternal Word, Jesus. He brings life. You are worthy of all my praise!
